Preparing for Promises
On March 25, the Solemnity of the Annunciation, members of our Association Jeanne Jugan gathered here in our Residence to have a day of fellowship, prayer and reflection as they prepare their hearts to renew their yearly promises on May 1st of this year – the Feast Day of Saint Joseph the Worker.
A happier and more helpful group of people you will never find! Most of the members of our Association Jeanne Jugan have been with us for many years – even decades. They have grown together in faith, love, and dedication to spreading the ministry and message of Saint Jeanne Jugan across the world.
Like her, many of the members remain hidden from our view, working on projects like laundry, gardening, sewing, maintenance and behind the scenes in our Chapel. Others plan, host and fund many of our special events (like Bingo – everybody’s favorite), festivals and parties.

Members of the AJJ gathered in our Chapel for prayer.
Even though many members of the Association suffered when the Pandemic made it impossible for face-to-face contact with the sisters and Residents, “We grew in faith. We learned to trust more fully in the Providence of God and came to realize the truly unstoppable power of prayer,” said Cindy, their coordinator. During that long separation, the members became even more creative, organizing prayer meetings in our parking lot, writing letters of encouragement to the Residents and Sisters, and saying the Rosary outside our home as they stood, heads bowed, around our beautiful statue of Mary in our back yard.
Their on-going faith formation, and dedication to the spiritual maxims of Saint Jeanne Jugan remain the central focus of the daily life of all members of the Association Jeanne Jugan. And we are so very grateful for their decision to serve God through service to the aged! God bless them!

Oblate Fathers Paul and Mike addressed the Members of the AJJ and were available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation during their day of prayer and renewal.
