Celebrating World Day of Prayer for Grandparents and the Elderly

World Day of Prayer for Grandparents and the Elderly was a three-day event here at our Newark, Delaware Saint Jeanne Jugan Residence! And why not three days? After all, World Youth Day lasted more than one day!

We started off with a special treat as the Little Sisters all came to sing a special song for us. Accompanying them in song was Ali , one of our “Spring into Action,” Summer Volunteers , while Maria, a brilliant and talented musician accompanied them with her flute. We couldn’t hold back, we just had to join in the singing! Delighted with the beautiful concert, we cheered and called for an encore!

Over the next few days, we were treated to refreshing summer water ice, Philly Pretzels, special games of Nostalgic Bingo and Jeopardy with delicious treats and prizes and an old time sing along! The Sisters and our volunteers joined in the fun while our Staffs and AJJ members kept the fun going! What a wonderful celebration of generations!
