Bet You Didn't Know That God Makes Snow Angels!
Meet Eileen, our Director of Housekeeping. She's been with us for 30 years. When her work day ends, in her "free" time, she runs our rummage sales & bake sales, often baking in our kitchen till late at night. She makes her famous Jewish Apple cakes not only for the sales but also for the Sisters to give as Christmas gifts to our benefactors. Each Summer she puts on a picnic for the Residents at her house - there's swimming, barbeques, games & treats! And in winter, if there's a chance of snow or ice, Eileen stays over night to make sure she's here in the morning to keep our Home spotless. She is Snow Angel Number One. Thanks for all you do for us!
Meet Snow Angel Number Two. Linda has been with us for 38 years (that's right, 38 years!) "I just love the Residents and the sisters," she says. "They are like my family!" And speaking of family, Linda also loves babysitting for her granddaughter Ellie whenever she can! She started in our Saint Joseph's unit as an aide, then went to Housekeeping for a year. But she's been working as a cook in our kitchen ever since. Just like Eileen, you can find her staying here overnight if there's a chance snow & ice might make her miss a day of work. Now that's dedication! "I don't want the Residents to go without breakfast," she said, smiling. "And the sisters always let me stay in a beautiful room here. I am so grateful for that!" Well we're grateful too, Linda. Thanks so much!
